20 Aug 2022 - Last Day at Medora ND

 20 Aug

Last day at Medora.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with Joe and Kerry Thornell.  Each day we have explored together a different area in and around Medora and then got together for a social hour either at a local establishment or back at the campground, or maybe both!!  Joe and I had similar but different career paths in the Air Force and Air National Guard but our paths crossed many, many times.  We both worked for many years in our respective career fields.  We both deployed to the Iraq/Kuwait area and we both served as a State Command Chief.  At the end of the day we both did our best to teach, mentor, develop and most importantly lead those Airmen we were assigned.  And our spouses were right there with us doing what they could.  Now we travel and enjoy meeting up with those who we met and served with along the way.  I am so thankful for them and the opportunity to reconnect and thank them in person.

Today was basically a down day for us.  Doreen did several loads of laundry as we prepare for our westward adventure tomorrow.  I wrapped up some things here and we flushed tanks, stowed hose - you know the routine!  Tonight we joined the Thornells for one last meal here in the campground before we head our separate ways tomorrow.

Thanks for tagging along.  Next report from Malta Montana!
