A beautiful house overlooking the White River
A Blue Heron waiting for breakfast!
Our guide Paul Bobby ready to get after it!
Heading up to the area just short of the dam.
We headed back up to the spillway in the catch and release area. We worked that and netted a quite a few rainbows. They are a lot of fun to catch! A couple pictures:
Then we headed downstream a bit and caught some brown trout. On the average they are larger than the rainbows and put up a great fight! The markings on these fish as beautiful! One of the browns we caught and released:
Later we headed downstream past the State Park and worked the shoreline for more rainbows, but it was tough fishing. The bite was so gentle it was very hard for me to distinguish between bottom interference and a nibble - it is all done by feel and watching the rod tip.
Before noon we called it a day. Paul likely has the fish count but I lost track after 20! I had a blast fishing here and am looking forward to the next time.
While we were on the water, Doreen tended to Liberty and they headed out to investigate the campground some more.

This evening we met our fishing guide Paul Bobby and his wife Cindra for dinner in town. They are both Veterans, retired Air Force. Paul had many different assignments and positions during his career which included First Sergeant. Cindra was a nurse in the Army and transferred into the Air Force. She works for one of the local hospitals here in Mountain Home. One of the restaurants in Bull Shoals will prepare fish you bring in to your liking. We did this in 2016 and really enjoyed it.
This is a sampler platter they create which includes baked, fried, grilled and blackened trout.
It was amazing!!
I had them prepare my fish meal blackened and it was exceptional! The dinner includes two sides also. You can also order off the menu. We had a great evening talking with Paul and Cindra.

I have quite a few more fishing pictures and videos but that is going to do it for tonight. Tomorrow we will pull chocks and head towards an RV park east of Tulsa OK. Next report from there!
