This morning at 09:28 hrs we pulled chocks and waved goodbye to the beautiful White River and the Bull Shoals White River State Park campground. We drove through the town of Bull Shoals and south through Flippin AR If you are a fisherman, Flippin AR may sound familiar. Indeed, Flippin is the home of Ranger Bass Boats, probably the finest tournament bass boats made. But with the RV in tow we did not try to stop and get a tour. We will save that tour for another visit to Bull Shoals
Near Flippin we headed west on Hwy 412 and basically stayed on it until we were within about a half mile of our next RV park. Now in theory that should have worked our really well, but much of it was two lane, very hilly, and narrow in spots. We also ran into a health delay going through Siloam Springs AR.
Once we got on the Oklahoma Turnpike the traffic disappeared and it was smooth sailing. Our Texas Pass works on the turnpike as far as tolls which is nice. Interesting the speed limit posted 80 max and 60 min! 60mph is my target speed pulling the RV so we cruised along just fine!
Along the way after we crossed the state line we rolled into the Cherokee Nation. There are many casinos in the area.
At 13:59 hrs we arrived at our 12th stop here at the Out-Back RV Park in Chouteau OK. All in all the trip was 194 miles and took us 4 hrs 31 minutes with just one potty stop and no fuel. Speaking of fuel, when we got here I fueled up - found it for $5.199. Doing the math, we only got 9.79 miles/gal due to the hills and stop/go driving.
After arriving we set up quickly. The RV park has about 34 sites and is adequate. Nothing fancy, no pool, etc but adequate. Doreen checked out the laundry facilities and she said the machines looked brand new. A few pictures:
Once we were unhooked, utilities connected and slides out, Doreen tackled the inside setup and I headed north about 8 miles with the truck to the Patriot RAM Chrysler dealership. We had an error message pop up on the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) stating the "Airbox Service Required - See Dealer". I looked it up on the Internet and it was suggested to replace the air filer element and clean out any bugs etc in the air box. The air filter did not look that bad but I went ahead and changed it and vacuumed the airbox. The message persisted so I figured I better get it checked out. The dealership got me right in and said that I had effectively fixed the issue myself, but the error was basically just left over so they cleared it and reset the module involved. All better now.
Back at the coach we had some dinner, took Liberty for a walk, and called it a night. Time for a cold one!
