13 May 2022 - Arrived at Elkhart Campground

 13 May

This morning at 0913 hrs we pulled chocks at Caboose Lake Campground and headed north and east to Elkhart IN and the Elkhart Campground, arriving at 1147 hrs after traveling 126 miles.  We are in this area to attend the 2022 Alliance RV Rally and reconnect with hundreds of what we call "FamAlly" - a family of Allies.  They are Alliance RV owners from all over the United States that we have met since purchasing our Alliance fifth wheel in Feb 2020.

This is our third Rally.  The first two were held right here at the Elkhart Campground, but we have outgrown it so this year it is being moved to the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds Campground in Goshen IN just a few miles south.  So we will be here 13-22 May then move to the Fairgrounds 22-30 May for the Rally before heading south to our next destination.

The actual Rally runs 25-27 May but like us, many arrive early as this is a huge social event in addition to the educational events and RV repairs that will take place here.  During previous Rally's we became close friends with so many Alliance owners and Alliance staff, and have maintained contact with them on Facebook ever since.

The Elkhart Campground is nice and flat, and it is pretty big.  Most of the sites are full hookup and pull through.  We have some shade here as there are plenty of mature trees, but our satellite dish is able to see the southern sky.

Plenty of roads to walk Liberty

The sites are fairly wide and spread out.  The wind is moderate so we are able to fly the flag proudly.

Our daughter Jennifer and her family live a short drive from here in Battle Creek MI.  This weekend granddaughter Lindsey plays in a volleyball tournament in Shipshewana IN about 45 minutes east of here, so we plan to attend the 1100 hrs and 1200 hrs Saturday, and then Sunday's schedule will depend on how things go Saturday.  It will be great to see them as the last time was Christmas.
