19 May
Gorgeous weather here today with a high of 82F and sunny skies. It is supposed to be nice again tomorrow with a high of 87F. More Alliance fifth wheels roll in every day as we get closer and closer to the third Alliance Rally next week. I would guess we have around 25 Alliance RV's here by now and many more inbound every day from all over the USA, and that is just here at what we call the unofficial "pre-rally"! We cannot move into the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds Campground until Sunday 22 May, so many of us decided to gather here at the Elkhart Campground ahead of time. This gives us a chance to catch up with fellow Allies (Alliance owners), affectionately called "FamAlly".
It is such an interesting dynamic. Just a couple years ago we did not know any of these people, and now it is like we have known many of them a lifetime. We have retired or former military, law enforcement, fire fighters, an emergency room doctor, educators, a pilot, some Alliance employees, truck drivers, mechanics, business owners, full-time RV'ers, part-time RV'ers - basically any walk of life. And we are meeting more new FamAlly every day.
The common denominator is this new brand of fifth wheel trailer called Alliance. They just started making them in January 2020. We ordered ours in February 2020 and took delivery the next month. Their product is really nice but so was our previous coach. What really sets them apart from all the other brands is their over-the-top customer service. During their Rallys they provide awesome repair services. Each attendee that registers for the Rally, exclusive of their RV's warranty status, can request up to three items they want to have addressed while they are here. Realistically, few will leave here with any known issues. It's awesome and greatly appreciated. More about the Rally next week after we get moved.
In the mean time we are just enjoying our stay here and comradery with everyone. Doreen and I did head down to the grocery store today to restock on a few things today. I tinkered around with a few items on the coach, did a little grilling in the nice weather, and finished up the evening with another campfire. I believe we counted 37 folks who gathered tonight.
I will finish up tonight with a couple pictures of one of our Ally's (Chris and Martha Peters) coaches and their awesome flag display from a flag holder attached to their pin box. This is obviously removed before they travel.
We have no specific plans tomorrow, which is not a bad thing! Whatever we do will likely be outside so we can enjoy the great weather!
