Quiet day here before the craziness of the Rally starts next week. We had a rainy day here, so good time to get some admin work done. I spent the morning and early afternoon making phone calls and doing some paperwork. That stuff continues even though we are on the road! But it was all successful and I got a lot accomplished. In between the rain storms Doreen walked Liberty and then she teamed with a bunch of the other spouses and they worked on silent auction items for one of our Alliance family's.
Throughout the day more Alliance fifth wheels rolled in to our unofficial "pre-rally". It is quite a sight. Yesterday we had about 17 and probably five more showed up today. It is so awesome to meet everyone and find out where they are from!
The rainy day provided an opportunity to check out the new weather system I just installed, and it is working well. I have yet to compare with other sources on the accuracy of the rainfall, but it is sensing the lightest drizzle and the wind speed and direction seems to be good.
The rain subsided later on and we all gathered for our first (of many) group campfires. The newest "thing" in campfires is the Solo Stove smokeless fire pit. They burn very efficiently and generate very little smoke. They look like the tub out of a washing machine, only stainless steel.
Many of the campers here have these and we had two here tonight. We had about 24 that joined us for the fire even though we had some lingering drizzle.
One of our Alliance owners produces a lot of You Tube videos and is a licensed drone operator. He took some aerial footage which he will post soon, but here is a picture of his setup. The drone is is in the center, upper part of the picture with the green light.
Tomorrow we are having another group breakfast with Nelly's muffins but other than that we have no firm plans. We might do a bit of shopping. The weather is supposed to be clearing with a high of 83F. Hope everyone has a great day!
