27 May
Today was the last day of the Alliance 2022 Rally. The morning started in the main event hall with the "Hay Stacker Bowl" breakfast. I talked to the food contractor and they will be visiting Boone Iowa this summer to serve at the Farm Progress Show!
The service teams were wrapping things up and finishing final work orders, including some minor work in our coach. We had a piece of trim that needed to be secured and the left door of our fridge had a minor ding from the countertop. They replaced the door, secured the trim, installed a plastic block to slightly raise our slideouts when retracted and removed some faint lines from the floor.
Once they were finished, Doreen and I walked over to the product display area where Alliance had many of their models on display, including the Valor toy hauler, the Paradigm fifth wheel and the Avenue lighter weight fifth wheel. They also had a prototype Valor bumper pull trailer on display. It did not have a front cap yet as it had not been designed!
After lunch I attended a seminar by AirXcel which included our air conditioners, water heater and furnace. They discussed regular problems customers might have, preventive maintenance etc. At the conclusion of the class they handed out free water heater anode rods.
At 1600 hrs the silent auction closed and we started to process the bid sheets. At the end of the day almost $13,000 was raised, which was awesome. Here are pictures of some of the bid winners:
The Rally concluded with a pizza and pasta dinner and the finals of the corn hole tournament. Our friend Mike Pizzi was one of the co-winners. Those who won were both given Alliance corn hole boards, but they both donated them back for auction with the proceeds going towards the silent auction totals.
We said farewell to many of our friends or should I say "FamAlly" that will be pulling out early in the morning. Some will head towards home. Some are full-timers and are towing their homes. It is hard to describe how much fun we have had here and how much we will miss these great people. There are some that will be here yet a few more days so we will see them in the coming days. I told one of our Ally's I would help them tomorrow with splitting their black tank spray lines
The Alliance team is absolutely amazing and we cannot thank them enough. What an outstanding Rally. We cannot wait for the next one!
We will be here until Monday 30 May when we head south towards Lexington KY. Our only plans for tomorrow is we are having lunch with our daughter Jennifer and her family. Other than that we may catch up on some cleaning here in preparation for our departure.
