25 May
The 2022 Alliance RV Rally has arrived! This morning we started with a full breakfast followed by the opening ceremonies where we heard from Ryan and Coley Brady, the co-owner of Alliance RV. There were approximately 500 Alliance RV owners and spouses in attendance.
They conducted a question and answer session and afterwards made themselves available to everyone. These guys are approachable and down to earth. They care about their customers and owners, and they especially care about their employees. Over the years I have done business with a lot of different companies and I have never seen one quite like this. They are the real deal and they are making the RV industry stand up and take notice.
At the back of the hall we have a silent auction for one of our Ally's who's family is having some serious infant medical challenges. Alliance generously donated a considerable sum of money towards this effort. Several of the vendors donated products for the silent auction and many of the Ally's contributed.
The vendor hall is in full swing and they have many of their products on display and for sale.
All this time the service teams are running around the campground on golf carts and pickup trucks fixing virtually any complaint the owners have. Alliance shut down two complete plants and reassigned all of their line technicians here to perform any required repairs on the Rally attendee's coaches. No other company does repairs and maintenance to this extent. Can you even begin to imagine the cost of shutting down production for three days in two plants? It is mind-boggling. But that is how dedicated the Brady's are to supporting their customers.
Speaking of repairs, I had my own repairs going on today. I had a condensate cup that overflowed rather than evaporating and the face frame around the refrigerator swelled from the moisture. I fixed the moisture issue but the swelled wood remained. The Alliance Team (we call them the A-Team) came over today and fixed it. To do so they had to completely remove my refrigerator and then tear out the old face frame and install the new one.
Bottom line is it came out great and it is all repaired - free gratis. My coach went out of warranty March 2021, but Alliance repaired this at no charge, and they were happy to do it. Simply awesome folks. They are second to none.
Because of the repairs, I wanted to be here while they were doing that so I missed the class I planned to attend today but that is OK. Over the next two days there are many classes I have on the schedule. Tomorrow I plan to attend (1) Product Feedback Forum, (2) Plumbing and Water Systems, (3) Brake and Axle Maintenance, (4) RV Weight and Tire Safety, and finally (5) Leveling and Slide Systems. Doreen is going to the Product Feedback session plus a crafts class. Tomorrow night is Hawaiian Nite Potluck Dinner and everyone is to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt followed by live music and campfire. There is a cornhole tournament going on that I did not join and there are other events happening at the same time.
Tonight we gathered for an Alliance-provided dinner and later we had a bourbon tasting event! Everyone brought their favorite bourbon and we all shared with everyone else. Now bourbon is a type of whiskey that's mash (the mixture of grains from which the product is distilled) must contain at least 51% corn. The mash must be distilled at 160 proof or less, the distillate must be stored in charred new oak barrels at 125 proof or less, and it must not contain any additives. So now you know! There is a huge difference between different bourbons, but much depends on your palate. I think my one if my favorites is Eagle Rare from Buffalo Trace Distillery
Tomorrow is a full day of seminars and other events so we will bring this to a close. What an awesome day and an awesome company and absolutely awesome FamAlly!!
