20 May 2022 - Maintenance Friday

 20 May

As we wait for the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds campground to open up for our Rally arrival Sunday morning, we continue to enjoy the comradery here.  As we walk around we see Ally's helping Ally's..  Across from us, Tom VanderHeiden was helping Bob Mitchell clean and repack his wheel bearings.  When they finish with Bob's trailer they will move to Tom's and then they will move to Chris's, and that's how we roll.  It's all one big team helping each other out.

Bob and Tom busy replacing his wheel bearings and seals

Tom finishing up one of the four wheels.

Down the road some of the gal's gathered to work on silent auction baskets.  Behind us Christa conducts home school with her four children.  A.J., a tournament bass fisherman and Army Veteran, sorts his fishing tackle and organizes his storage bay.  George, an emergency room doctor from Cape Canaveral,  mentioned his door lock was not latching very well so we made a few adjustments and hopefully some improvements!  Glad I had my Dremel tool on-board!

Grinding on the strike plate a bit.  Now it fits!!

I did not get any pictures, but the Alliance Team was here early this morning and they we fixing various issues on everyone's campers.  The team is amazing and so helpful.

But that is how it goes.  Everyone if helping everyone out.  And it is fun.  And we all learn something new every day.

No campfire tonight as the winds were high and bad weather predicted.  Northern Michigan had a tornado rip through with one dead and many injured. We are a long ways from there here in northern Indiana, but we respect the weather when we are traveling around with our RV.  Doreen and I settled in to watch one of our favorite Friday night shows, Gold Rush.

That is about it for today.  You have to pace yourself, you know?!!
