Today we went to the Alliance RV Lamination plant conference room along with other volunteers to help with preparations for next week's Alliance RV Rally. Each Rally attendee gets a tee shirt, and we had to roll & rubber band them and sort them by size into boxes. Next week they will be added to bags for each attendee based on the size they specified back when they registered online, along with many other items each attendee will receive. Alliance provided a pizza lunch for us before we headed back to the campground for the afternoon.
This was our first time in the Lamination Plant. In this plant is where technicians fabricate the wall and floor infrastructure for all of the Alliance coaches. There are rack after rack of aluminum extrusions that are cut and welded to form the framework for the walls and floors. Then insulation is installed between the frame members and interior and exterior materials are glued and compressed to form the Azdel walls.
Back at the campground I stopped by the office and picked up the flag pole I ordered to hold my WeatherFlow Tempest outdoor weather station, before returning to our RV. Little Miss Liberty had been cooped up in there all morning so we took her on a long walk. Other Rally attendees continued to roll in today. This will continue here until Sunday when we all move to the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds campground in Goshen. Until then we will enjoy the comradery and craziness here!! What a blast!
At about 1600 hrs we drove 27 miles NE to Three Rivers MI to meet daughter Jennifer and her family for dinner. We met at Hank's Tavern on the River and enjoyed a few appetizers including gizzards, followed by our meal! It was great to see everyone again. Next time we will see them will be south of Milwaukee WI at our other daughter Michelle's in July when our oldest grandson Joe has his high school graduation party.
Tomorrow we need to make a run to Lowes so I can finish the weather machine project, but other than that we plan to relax here while more of our friends roll in.
